Rebecca Adlington was born on February 17, 1989 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. She atteded The Brunts school at her birth place. Her swimming career started with Sherwood Colliery Swimming Club and then she was selected for the Nottinghamshire Country Swim Squad where she was trained. She was also preparing for the Olympic for 2012. Adlington was the first British Swimmer who win two Olympic gold medals since 1908 and also the first most successful Great Britain's Olympic in 100 years.

Rebecca Adlington won gold medals in both the 400m and 800m freestyle in Beijing Olympics in 2008 and now she is expecting to do the same in London Olympic 2012. She also won gold medal in the 400m and 800m freestyle in the Commonwealth Games in October 2010. She is a best British Swimmer also in the world.
