Roger Federer was born on August 8, 1981 in Basel, Switzerland. His father name is Robert Federer and mother name is Lynette Du Rand, they both worked in a pharmacuetical industry. He has an older sister and they grew up in the town of Munchenstein. Federer was interested in sports at an early age and Tennis was his passion. Federer was among the top 3 junior tennis players in his home country Switzeland by the age of 11. When he was 12 years old he quit other sports and decided to focus all his efforts on tennis.

Roger Federer decided to leave home and accept an invitation to Switzerland's national training center in Ecublens in 1994 by the age of 13. He used to come home on weekends and spend some time with his family. He was improving day by day and finaly he won the Wimbledon singles and doubles titles in 1998 and turned as a professional player later that year. Federer got on the board by winning his first ATP singles title in Milan in 2001. He got to his number 1 ranking at the start of 2006 by winning the Australian Open, his third successive U.S. Open and his fourth successive Wimbledon singels title.
