Silva used six years of his pro lifework with Valencia CF, showing up in more than 150 amusements and scoring one Copa del Rey, before moving in the Spring of 2010 to Manchester City. His passing capability and ownership-holding values have earned him the nickname "Merlin" from his fellow team members.

Silva made his master make a big appearance in 2004–05, with Segunda División's SD Eibar, while on advance from Valencia, playing 35 class diversions and scoring on five events. In the emulating period, he was again out on advance, this chance to Celta de Vigo, where he played 34 matches, scoring four objectives.
Silva first stood for Spain in the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland, scoring three objectives. In 2006, he came to be an under-21 global and scored four objectives throughout the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship; this was sufficient to gain him joint-fourth put in the objective standing, close by Italian striker Graziano Pellè.
